41 - Why one-to-one coaching creates faster transformation
In this week’s episode, I pull back the curtain on what really happens inside the one-to-one coaching sessions within the SIMPLIFY programme.
I share real client breakthroughs - from rebuilding energy and easing overwhelm to finding clarity in business pivots and overcoming procrastination.
You’ll hear how just 30 minutes of focused one-to-one coaching can help ambitious women in business simplify their approach, strengthen self-trust, and take aligned action that actually moves things forward.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to work with me, or how personalised support can create faster transformation than group coaching alone, this episode gives you the full picture - honest, unedited, and completely unscripted.

Hello and welcome back. I hope you have had an incredible week. I'm doing something a bit different today, and it feels slightly nerve-wracking, which is crazy. And I'm sharing this with you because I think it's a good opportunity for me to share that when we do new things, those new things feel uncomfortable. But the more we do those new things, the more they start to feel comfortable, and the more our nervous system can relax and re-regulate itself. So I'm feeling a little bit tight in my chest at the moment. I feel like I'm breathing quite shallowly. I'm breathing quite high up in my respiratory cavity. Um, because this feels a little bit daunting, and it's crazy because I'm sat on my sofa, I've got the dog nearby, um, and I'm talking to you guys, and I know how much support you all throw in my direction, and I want to thank you for that before we get into all of this. Um, and as I'm talking, I can feel my um nerves are calming down a little bit. So um, this is all good. As I say, when we do something new, it can feel uncomfortable. But once we start and we move through it, that sense of safety starts to come through for us, and I'm starting to feel that already one minute, 20 seconds into recording this for you. So, why am I feeling nervous? Well, I am doing this as one of my first podcast episodes without a script. I have recorded a couple of them when I've been walking in the woods, when I've had a real like inspired moment that I want to share with you. But this one is actually a bit more planned. Um, but I've decided to do it on script because unscripted rather, because if I don't try and see how this works, then I'll never know whether I can speak to you guys from an unscripted place. Now, the reason I've been doing scripted versions of the podcast until now is because I use the script that I write to then create a blog. So I put my script into Chat GPT and I ask it to give me a blog version of my script. I then edit that to my own sort of bits and pieces that I want to do with it, you know, tweak it to my own energy and language and what have you. Although I have trained chat quite well now, but there's still always a little bit of editing to do. And then it also produces a promotional email for me and a promotional social media post. So I've been using the excuse, maybe, of writing a script because it gives me all those other things. But I've also realized that it takes quite a lot of time for me to sit and write the script, edit the script, and then record the podcast. So I'm giving this a go to see if this is a more efficient use of my time and to see just how this flows. So, this is all about imperfect action. If you've been listening to my podcasts right from when I started them in January, this has always been about imperfect action. My whole of 2025 has been inspired by imperfect action. And when I launched the podcast back in January, that was always my intention. It's why I never edit the podcast. But I record it on my phone, I have no fancy equipment, I pick a topic, I record on that topic, and I put it out to you guys. And that is exactly what we're going to do today, even though this feels like a massive leap of faith. So, what I want to get into in this podcast episode is the power of one-to-one coaching. And the reason I want to talk about this is because I have recently opened the doors to Simplify. We have the beat around of Simplify running at the moment. I've got four incredible clients inside that programme. And by the way, I will be reopening the doors to Simplify on the 3rd of November. So if you have been considering working with me in some capacity and you've been hearing me talk about Simplify and you're intrigued to find out a little bit more, well, firstly, listen to this episode because it will give you a behind the scenes of what goes on. And secondly, if that sounds good, reach out to me, drop me a message, drop me an email, find me on Instagram, and let's have a chat to see if it's a good fit for you. Um, the doors will open, as they say, on the 3rd of November, and they will close again towards the middle to sort of 20-ish of November because then I want to be able to onboard everybody together and get everybody inside the program. Anyway, less of that, more of the power of one-to-one. So inside Simplify, I'll give you a little bit of an idea of the program structure so that you understand why I'm talking about this. Talking about this. So inside Simplify, there is some self-led elements, there is group coaching sessions once a month, and then everybody gets a one-to-one call once a month as well. Now, those one-to-one calls are 30 minutes long, and you might be thinking, well, what can we get done in 30 minutes? Well, that's what I'm about to share with you. And I'm going to share with you why I feel it's so important for me and for my clients to have a one-to-one element in everything that I offer. Because every single one of the four ladies inside Simplify have come to their one-to-one calls with different problems, different needs, different lifestyles, different starting points on their journey within Simplify, different points within their business. Some are fairly early on in their business, some are trying to pivot their business. Some need to focus more on what's going on outside of their business in order to help with their business growth and also their personal growth. And I'm going to go through and speak very briefly about each of the four calls that I have had inside Simplify. Before I get into that though, there is obviously this power of the one-to-one calls, which I'm going to go into, but also what has been so beautiful inside Simplify is the incredible support that the women inside there are giving each other. And this is why I love this hybrid program because you get the power of the one-to-one coaching, and where we can really hone in on what it is that you need and where you are at in your business and your life. And then you've got the group support and the cheerleading and the energy that comes from being around other women who are also working on themselves and trying to grow their businesses. So it's a really powerful blend of group and one-to-one, and I'm absolutely loving it, and I can tell from the ladies inside there that they are two. So let's get into very briefly a little bit about the four one-to-one calls that we've had. So we've only had one one-to-one call per client in the beat around. So as I said, you get one 30-minute one-to-one call with me once a month. And as we only started on the 1st of October, and I'm recording this on what the 23rd of October, it's going to go out on the 27th of October this episode. So I'm just going to give you a little rundown of what we spoke about on each of those calls. Okay, so client number one, I'm not going to give them any names because I think it's not fair to share their names. I like to keep things confidential and anonymous wherever possible. So I'm just going to call them client one, two, three, and four, which might sound a bit cold and sort of not very personal, but I'm doing it purely for confidentiality reasons. So client number one has a huge amount of stuff going on in her life at the moment. I won't obviously go into what that is, but she would describe it as a bit of a shitshow. There's a lot going on, it's causing a lot of pressure, a lot of stress, a lot of anxiety. And it's meant that a lot of her health habits have slipped off the radar. And it's also meant that she's put a lot of pressure on herself to try and keep her health habits up near the top of the priority list. She's very well aware that she needs to support herself through all of this chapter that she's in, so that she can navigate all of this from a place of strength, so that she can still be there for her family, for her young son, and for everybody else that she supports her clients as well, and so that she can build a sustainable business while still going through this period in her life. So, what we worked on on that call was being a bit more fluid in her approach to her health. She had a really strict regime that she was trying to adhere to, and it really wasn't working for her because by having that strict regime, she wasn't actually doing any of it because she was looking at the plan and the ideal setup and was looking at and thinking, well, I'm never going to be able to do all of that right now at this point in time, so I just won't do any of it. So we came up with a strategy that will work for her to enable her to tap into the things that she needs and tap out of the things that she doesn't need in order to still focus on her health, focus on her energy levels, focus on the time that she has available or doesn't have available as each day, you know, flexes and changes. Um and that gave her a sort of it empowered her, I guess, to actually do some of the stuff that's on her ideal list. And we came up with not just some sort of ideal ideology associated with this, but actual physical, tangible strategies that she could implement straight away. Um, we also spoke about her nutrition because, as I'm sure you've experienced, I've definitely experienced when life is stressful, when life is full, when there's a lot going on, and our headspace is crammed with everything else that's going on and lots of external inputs coming in, it can be really, really easy to let our nutrition habits slip. I know I have definitely, definitely been there. And so, in order to try and support her energy levels more than anything else, we came up with solutions as to how she could very easily get a little bit more nutrition into her diet without actually much effort at all. And so she left that call half an hour into that call, or half an hour at the end of that call, she left that call feeling really empowered and ready to implement the stuff that we'd spoken about and really excited for how her energy levels might be over the coming days, weeks, months as she goes through this challenging period of her life. So her call was very much focused on life rather than business. It was focused on health as the backbone to all of that, and and yeah, that's what we focused on with her. Client number two is pivoting her business. Um, she has a very well-established, successful client-facing business, but she has a desire to use her knowledge and her skills and her wisdom in an alternative way, which means that she doesn't need to be quite so much client-facing. She can bring in income in a way that brings her more joy, in a way that frees up a bit more time, and in a way that is just the direction she now wants to go in with her business. And so we were talking on her call about how best to approach this. She's already started some of the pivot, but what I noticed on the call was she was probably procrastinating a little bit, in all honesty. She was sort of hiding behind her laptop a little bit, doing lots of planning and strategy and sort of admin-focused work and not actually putting herself out there into the world to demonstrate what this new arm of her business is. And so we spent time talking about how she can best do that, how she can be really efficient with her time, and how she can actually move the needle forwards on that pivot so much more quickly by doing the things that I suggested to her. No longer hiding behind the laptop, no longer hiding behind the admin and the strategizing, but actually getting out there and doing the stuff that's going to make a difference. Client number three is very new to her business. She has been in the world of employment for most of her career and has very recently decided that enough is enough. She no longer wants to work on an employed basis and has come up with an incredible business idea, but she's scared. She's in her 40s and has been there for an employment for many, many, many, many years, getting a you know, a safe regular salary month in, month out, and now she feels scared because um she is putting herself out into the world. She feels a real sense of vulnerability, she's got some limiting beliefs that are coming up to play, lots of mind monkeys are coming out and chattering away to her, and she's finding it hard to take the steps to move her business forward because she's scared. Her nervous system is out of regulation, um, and she's fearful of what people might think. And so we spoke through all of this stuff. We started to very slowly unpick some of those limiting beliefs. Obviously, we're never going to get to the bottom of those in 30 minutes, but we started that process. And what I set for her was some sensible, straightforward, simple action points that she could take over the next month before we have our next call to start to actually establish how she wants to launch her business. What price point does she want to put it at? Because pricing was making her feel really, really uncomfortable. And so we spoke about ways that she could make decisions about her pricing from an evidence-based approach by doing some market research perhaps. And we talked about how to also calm the nervous system and how the simple steps, those leaps of faith, however small or large they might look to somebody else, still feel bloody huge to us, as I explained at the beginning of this episode. And so we talked about that. We talked about how normal it is to feel scared, how normal it is for your nervous system to go into fight or flight mode when you're doing something new. And the reason it's doing that is because it's new, it will feel uncomfortable. And unless we do those things, they will always feel uncomfortable. So we spent her half an hour really bringing her back down to earth, trying to ground her and bringing forth some tangible strategies and action points that she can utilize to take those little tiny steps to feel safe and to get her business live. Because, as we spoke about, at the moment her business is very much an expensive hobby, and if she wants to make money from it, she needs to take these little steps forward to get this thing live and to get paying clients. And then the final client, client number four, has also pivoted her business but is a little bit further down the line and doesn't feel quite so scared by the process. This person has actually been self-employed for a number of years, just doing a different um a different business, but but working with the same client base. So she's already got a lot of familiarity with her client base. She's just um serving them in a different capacity. And for her, we really spoke about the things that she knows she needs to do in order to move her business forward, but she has been procrastinating about. And so again, we set in place tangible actions that she is going to take between the call that she's had in October and the call that she will have with me in November. Stuff that's been on her plate, she's been wanting to do, feeling like she's needed to do, but hasn't actually done because it feels daunting. So we unpicked all of that, and again, we brought it back to the next best step. What's the next thing she needs to do to free her mind of this one task that's been filling her head without it feeling overwhelming? So breaking it down step by step by step. What else did we talk about on her call? I feel like we spoke about something else, and I'm trying to remember now, and it's crazy because we only had the call a couple of days ago. Um we talked about getting her face on social media more because she offers a service-based business. She has a product that sits alongside it, and so far she's very much been promoting the product and not herself. And so we very much spoke about how she needs to get herself out onto social media much more, and people need to see her face and feel her energy, and that's what they will be buying from her. So, as you can see, all four clients coming to me with completely different needs, wants, desires, support levels, um, but all of them wanting to basically simplify things. That's the beauty of this programme, it's why it's called Simplify. Um, there's also another reason why it's called Simplify, which I can explain to you if you're interested and you want to, you know, have a chat about it in more detail. But ultimately, this is all about simplifying your actions, simplifying your strategies, simplifying what you're doing in your life and in your business to ultimately start living the life and growing the business that you really, really want to be living and really, really want to be creating. So, as I said at the start, if this has given you a little taste, a little um I don't know, appetizer for what Simplify is about, and you're intrigued to find out a little bit more, get in touch. As I said, the doors open on the 3rd of November. I'll be closing them a couple of weeks later, um, maybe three weeks later, so that I've got enough time to onboard everybody and get everybody inside this wonderful group. You will be joining these four incredible women inside Simplify. So, this is not a program where it's like one group and another group and another group. It is going to be a program where you join people who are already within that group. So think of the power that is going to be there of people who have already had a month or so inside the program, people who are already moving forwards. Think of the cheerleading, the inspiration, the support, the wisdom you are going to get from those four women that are already inside the program, as well as what you're going to get from me coaching you as well. As I say, if you are interested, let me know. Just drop me a message, drop me an email, find me on Instagram, we can have a chat. No obligation. I always want to make sure that anybody joining my programs or working with me, not only that it's right for you, but you are right for me as well. So we'll do a bit of a vibe check, just make sure that obviously we're going to work well together. It's a six-month programme, so we need to both know that this is going to work for both of us. So we definitely want to have a bit of a chat about it. Um, if this isn't quite the right fit for you, or you're not at a point where you're ready to make an investment for six months. Oh, and by the way, payment plans and all that jazz are all available. So don't worry, you've got to pay up front for six months. We can definitely, you know, chat about how we can make this more accessible for you. But if you're still not feeling that's the right fit for you at this point in time, come and join me on a Tuesday. Every Tuesday evening, I run a free clarity and calm journaling circle. It's a fantastic place for self-reflection, for getting to know other women in business, for connection, community, you get to know me a little bit better. Um, and it's just a joyful way to spend an hour on a Tuesday evening. So if you're interested in that, the link for all the information and to grab your free ticket is down in the show notes. So go and grab that, come and join me on a Tuesday. We're not actually running, if you're listening to this as it goes live on the 27th of October, we're not actually running a session tomorrow evening on the 28th of October, but I will be back on the 4th of November. Again, all the details are in the link in the show notes. Okay, this has been a longer episode than normal, but I hope it's given you a really good taste of what it's like to work with me and a bit of behind the scenes action. I will love you and leave you there. Have a fantastic week. If it's half term with you, if you're listening in the UK and it's half time with you, have a marvellous half term. I hope you get some rest, recuperation, recovery, quality time with your family, and I will see you all again next week for another pep talk.
